Does your child love musicals? Are they looking to take their theater training to the next level? Look no further than Stage Your Imagination! This class is the perfect way for students ages 8-12 to step into the world of acting and learn about monologues, scene work, characterization, improv, music, and so much more.

Throughout the semester, students will become acquainted with different aspects of theater through games and interactive lessons. What does it mean to make a character? How do you convey a specific emotion to your audience? What does it mean to be a good scene partner? These are just a few topics we will be covering.

Additionally, with the help of a qualified and experienced theater instructor, Stage Your Imagination members will create an end of semester show/presentation in the form of a series of handpicked monologues, scenes, and songs. This material will be a mix of kid-friendly, readily available monologues and scenes (titles like Who Needs Braces? and Official Birthday Wishlist in ABC Order, just to name a few), and works collaborated upon and written by students in the class.

Students will also be keeping a journal throughout the semester. This journal, to be provided by the instructor, acts as a blank canvas for students to work on developing their characters, and a checkpoint to recall skills they’ve learned as they begin shaping their scenes.

The ensemble setting helps students learn how to work collaboratively and creatively in order to create a piece of theater they feel proud of and confident performing on stage. Whether your child is a seasoned performer or looking to try something new,

Stage Your Imagination provides a nurturing yet challenging way for students to learn and grow. We are looking forward to getting to know your blossoming actor!

  • Children Age 8-12

  • 60 min group classes - $475 - 12 week session

  • Wednesdays 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm / Winchester; September 18 through December 11

  • Tuesdays 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm / Acton; September 17 through December 10

Stepping into the world of theater offers countless benefits for children. By working on a visionary piece of art in a group, students will improve their teamwork, communication, creativity, and confidence. Working on written material, such as monologues and scenes, closely throughout the semester advances reading and writing comprehension. Exploring stories of those who live different lives than ours also helps to develop skills in empathy, allowing students to step into the shoes of someone completely different from them.
