Available to all skill levels and ages, from K to adults. Dive into the colorful world of drawing and painting with our carefully crafted curriculum, designed to inspire and empower students to unleash their inner artist. From beginner drawing classes, to acrylic painting, there is something for everyone!
Through hands-on instruction, students will develop essential skills and unlock their creativity. The art classes offered cater to students of different grade levels, providing them with a platform to develop their artistic skills. Beginning with fundamental concepts like lines, shapes, and colors, these classes aim to equip students with a strong foundation in art!
For younger students in grades K-3, the focus is on building proficiency through drawing, painting, color mixing, along with printmaking and sculpting clay. As students progress to grades 4-6, they delve deeper into drawing techniques and color theory, eventually leading to an introduction to acrylic painting. Acrylic painting classes offer students the opportunity to explore the color wheel, mix colors, and paint from silhouettes or life, all while gaining an understanding of artistic techniques inspired by the Great Masters.
Older art students in grades 7 and up further refine their art skills through exposure to a variety of drawing models and studies on value from reference materials.
Each of our art classes for kids span a 6-week period, during which we provide a structured environment for students to hone their abilities, foster creativity, and gain a deeper appreciation for the visual arts. By immersing themselves in these classes, students can nurture their passion for art and develop essential skills that will serve them well in their artistic endeavors and creative potential, all while under the guidance of our experienced instructors in a positive learning environment.

Students will explore their creativity with drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and sculpting clay. They will be exposed to a variety of mediums in an open, engaging environment.
Course meets once per week for six weeks beginning the week of September 16th.

Students will be exposed to a variety of drawing and painting materials as well as mixed media. They will learn about line, shape and form. Projects will include a perspective drawing of a city street. We will explore the color wheel and do exercises which demonstrate how values change from light to dark. Projects will include creating a picture with a foreground, middle and background.

Students will be exposed to a variety of drawing materials and learn the basics about line, shape and form. The first 3 weeks will focus on the fundamentals of drawing. Then they will be introduced to color theory, learn how to mix colors and study positive and negative shapes. This will be an introduction to painting with acrylics.
Course meets once per week for six weeks beginning the week of September 16th.

Students will explore the color wheel and painting materials. This class is intended for students who have had previous drawing classes or regularly practice drawing on their own. Students will paint from life and/or use reference materials provided. Students will gain a good understanding about mixing colors, how color can be used to create depth in painting.
Course meets once per week for six weeks beginning the week of September 16th.
Tuesdays | 6:15 -7:45pm (90 mins) | Intermediate class | Ages 14-17
This class is intended for students who have had previous drawing classes or regularly draw on their own. Students will look at historical works from painters like John Singer Sargent, Degas and Winslow Homer, among others. We will examine the composition of some of these historical pieces and students will learn how to mix their own colors and gain an understanding about creating harmony in a painting. Students will paint from life and/or use reference material provided.
Course meets once per week for six weeks beginning the week of September 16th.
Wednesdays | 6:45-8:15pm (90 min) | Ages 14+
This class is to encourage those who have the desire to improve their artistic abilities. Students will learn about the foundational elements that are crucial in creating a good picture. We will work in charcoal first, creating studies that examine line, shapes and values. This is a class where the goal is to learn how to see in order to create the painting in mind. Students will learn about brushes, paint, mediums, and canvases as well as mixing colors.
