"Stage Bells" - Have Fun Improving Your Singing Skills

In-person group singing classes for 6-8 years old children available at our music school in Winchester MA (limited to 8 children per group). Musical activities for great musical beginnings!

Some people may have an inherent knack for singing. But, generally, singing is a skill that you can develop by learning how to use your voice and through continuous practice. In other words, learning to sing is just like learning musical instruments.

With proper guidance, training, and practice, the singing instructors at Stage Music Center (SMC) can have your kids learn singing within the stipulated time. We go the extra mile to make sure our singing classes are valuable for your child.

Our singing lessons for kids are conducted in a fun, creative way and relaxed atmosphere. That allows the children to play around while learning basic techniques. We believe that this is the best way to help kids internalize what they learn for the rest of their lives.

Teaching kids how to sing isn't easy. But the instructors at Stage Music Center are trained to make the singing lessons as productive and seamless as possible.

We give your child the opportunity to sing, learn music, and have fun with performances in a way that is both encouraging and challenging.

Build Your Child's Confidence and Competence

We have designed our voice lessons to help you kids do a lot more than just learn to sing. As a parent, you can understand that some of us are born with natural self-esteem, but others need a bit of a boost.

Remember that voices are like instruments, but unlike other instruments, your voice is a very personal one. Singing and performing involve baring your voice out to the world, which can be scary at first.

At SMC, we develop kids' confidence to perform without feeling shy or experiencing stage fright. This confidence will spread to other aspects of their lives, helping them become successful as adults.

Our singing classes also involve experimentation with different techniques and understanding of beats, which is proven by research to improve IQ and help with academics. We can assure you that our singing lessons will leave an overall positive impact on your child's life.

Methods and Techniques

Vocal exercises are vital to learning how to sing.

Vocal exercises are vital to learning how to sing.

We understand that a child's confidence level is crucial - not just for singing but also for every facet of their lives. Keeping this in mind, our vocal lessons' teachers work with every child at an individual level to improve their confidence and make them more self-assured of their skills and growth potential.

We also build an environment that helps them feel more at ease and come out of their shells to sing and perform with complete confidence.

We usually focus on musical theatre, using songs from musicals like Annie, the Sound of Music, Disney, and more. These songs typically push vocal range without being too much. The best part is that they are written in a way that is easy for kids to memorize. That makes it more fun for kids to sing while also improving their skills.

Vocal Exercises

Vocal exercises are vital to learning how to sing. With proper warm-ups, you can maintain a healthy voice and sing for more extended periods.

In our singing classes, we go over a multitude of vocal exercises. This involves learning how to breathe from the diaphragm and singing posture and matching pitch and ear training with Solfege exercises (Do-Re-Mi).

Hand signs are also used to help children internalize the notes and build them into their muscle memory. This allows them to sing effortlessly without having to think about techniques as they grow up. It will also assist them with learning and implementing new techniques to improve their voices.

Musical Performance Workshops

Besides singing, we also focus on turning kids into good performers. We teach them good performance etiquette, such as listening attentively when others are speaking or performing, bowing, standing with good posture, focusing during performances, and more.

To implement these teachings, we also organize a performance at the end of every semester. During the workshops, the kids will demonstrate the singing and performance skills they have learned throughout the semester.

During the ongoing COVID pandemic, musical performance workshops will be held through recording video. But otherwise, we organize them as physical recitals that parents and family members can attend.
