Meet Anna Yukho, a talented and dedicated teacher at Winchester Stage Music Center

An influential and encouraging teacher can make all the difference in a child’s first experience with music. At Winchester Stage Music Center, we are blessed with many gifted, dedicated teachers like Anna Yukho, who truly change their students’ lives by introducing them to the world of music. These teachers are the reason we get high marks year after year from the local community and our students and families.

Anna Yukho is one of the gifted teachers at Winchester Stage Music Center who shares her love of music with her students.

From a Musical childhood in Eastern Europe to the dedicated staff at Winchester Stage Music Center

Anna inherited both her ability (and love of playing) from her musician mother in Belarus but it was the hard work she put into developing her musical gifts that brought her to the United States. She first completed a Master’s degree from the Mannes School of Music in New York before heading to the prestigious Yale School of Music in Connecticut for a Masters of Musical Arts. After all of this excellent schooling, she joined the enthusiastic teaching staff at Winchester Stage Music Center as a piano instructor.

Why she loves teaching at Winchester Stage Music Center

Growing up with the belief that “music is an important part of a good education,” it is no surprise that Anna gravitated toward a profession where she could share her love for both music and learning.  In fact, this enthusiastic Winchester Stage Music Center teacher loves the fact that she, too, continues to learn even as a teacher! “It’s such a dynamic between student and teacher,” says Anna.

Recently Anna asked a student if “the goal is not to make a few mistakes, right?” To her amusement, the six-year-old student responded, “No, I want to make a few mistakes, that’s how I am learning!”

What keeps Anna enthusiastic about teaching music at Winchester Stage Music Center

In her free time, dedicated Winchester Stage Music Center teacher Anna Yukho enjoys listening to the music of 19th century Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

After a long teaching day, you might find Anna happily listening to the Tchaikovsky Sextet’s stirring “Souvenir de Florence” or dancing around her home. But music is always a big part of her life.

Like so many of the dedicated teachers at Winchester Stage Music Center, Anna shares her love of music with her students and has a clear idea of what makes the study of music so unique. “The most wonderful and most challenging thing about music is that there is no top level.”

Anna continues on to say, “You work toward a goal for weeks or months or even years. When you achieve it, you feel great and it is truly a cause for celebration. But very soon after it is already time to begin working towards the next level.  For your entire life, there will always be the next level.”

We are delighted to have Anna teaching here, sharing her gifts and passion for music with students. She’s one of the talented and devoted teachers at Winchester Stage Music Center who make this such a special place to be!
