How do you listen to music? Walking down the street. In the car. In the background while studying. Hopefully, while you are making it. Music is everywhere!

Stop and ask yourself, do you listen? Really. Do YOU listen to music?

Many people are just passive listeners to the music around us. What if I told you that you can do some in depth listening very easily? Also that this listening can help your musical growth? Here’s an interesting exercise: 

• Start by finding a piece of music that you know from any genre. 
• Find a place of focus, close your eyes, and focus on the sound.
• What do you hear? 
• What do you think about what you hear? 
• How does it make you feel?
